Life is a hologram
The fact that the essence of matter can be an illusion
Saints from thousands of years ago have said that the essence of matter is emptiness, matter is an illusion, etc.
A quote from the Buddhism's Heart Sutra - ｢Shikisokuzeku、Kusokuzeshiki 」= Form itself is emptiness, emptiness itself is form - is saying that the essence of matter is not actually a matter.
Saints have preached this to be the truth of life for a very long time, however this quote has been regarded as spiritual and many people would probably regard it as "unscientific and irrational".
Science in recent years however, is said to have started elucidating the nature of the story which had been considered spiritual.
The leading theory is the quantum theory (quantum mechanics) for the world elucidated by quantum mechanics is remarkably similar to the spiritual world preached by saints.
Quantum mechanics is, quite simply put, physics pursuing the super ultra-micro world that our five senses cannot capture.
I assume you have been taught at school that an atom is the basic unit that makes up all matter.
Quantum mechanics is a study focusing on a world even smaller than atoms.
I have been personally pursuing the quantum mechanics and been convinced that the ultra-micro world in quantum mechanics is "almost the world of energy".
The world of energy is beyond anything we can capture or perceive using our five senses or any notions commonly known to public.
An atom - the basic unit that makes up all matter - consists of nucleus with electrons orbiting it.
Let's say nucleus was a size of a soccer ball, electrons would be the size of a soy bean.
The distance between the nucleus and electrons (in this particular scale above) would apparently be 80 km.
In other words, an atom is almost empty. 99.999..% of an atom is made up of an empty space.
All matter existing in this world - including our own bodies - are made up of atoms, but the reality of the matter is actually "almost empty".
Find it hard to believe?
That is right, you are empty and so am I!
In addition, the world of quantum including atoms is both material and immaterial - it is a world of duality.
Furthermore, quantum only materializes when human consciousness is involved.
In this logic, an atom, nucleus and electrons consisting the atom, also materialize when human consciousness is involved.
But on the other hand, 99.9999999％.of an atom is an empty space.
Therefore, the things we believe as matter (including our bodies) are not really matters...
Because all the matter consists of close to 100% emptiness.
Should this fact interpret into "the essence of matter is emptiness, matter is an illusion"?
But we do recognize it when there is a matter and we can actually touch it if we wanted to.
Why is it that we can?
